ENHANCING MEMBER DEVELOPMENT
SUMMARY
Phi Delta Theta is a leading fraternal organization dedicated to fostering leadership, academic excellence, and personal growth among its members. Facing challenges in engaging its members through e-learning and ensuring effective member development, PDT partnered with Two Tree Solutions to reimagine its digital member development strategy. Over a four month engagement TTS developed a comprehensive strategy focused on three key areas.
First, during the Discovery and Prioritization phase, TTS conducted in-depth stakeholder interviews and focus groups to understand the unique needs and frustrations of members, alumni, and staff. Using this data, TTS collaborated with PDT leadership to prioritize strategic goals, ensuring the focus remained on areas with the most immediate impact. Next, in the area of Platform Optimization, TTS worked across PDT's platform teams to streamline data synchronization between related systems. Additionally, TTS suggested implementing a unified notification system to enhance awareness of e-learning opportunities and improve member engagement. Finally, under Content and Engagement Enhancements, TTS conducted a comprehensive content audit to identify outdated materials and recommended creating a centralized catalog to improve resource management. To further enhance engagement, TTS proposed using video management platforms like Vimeo or YouTube to provide detailed analytics on content consumption and streamline updates. To ensure the strategy remained effective over time, TTS recommended establishing a feedback loop, allowing regular refinement of the member development journey based on user insights.
The collaboration with Two Tree Solutions delivered significant and transformative outcomes for Phi Delta Theta. Updated platform integrations addressed technical challenges, such as inflated compliance data and inefficient enrollment syncing, leading to improved data accuracy and smoother compliance tracking processes. Furthermore, the development of a Member Development Learning Journey map provided a clear and actionable framework for supporting members at each stage of their development, empowering the organization to align its initiatives with the evolving needs of its members. Finally, as noted by Phi Delta Theta's Executive Vice President and CEO, Sean Wagner, "By evaluating our current platform and supporting a contract renegotiation, the cost savings of nearly $200,000 over the next four years is a testament to the value TTS brought to our organization. As a result of this partnership, we will be able to reinvest in our members' growth and development."
Future recommendations to improve engagement and strategic planning were provided. By incorporating gamification elements, user-generated content, and targeted notifications, Phi Delta Theta will be able to lay the foundation for a more dynamic and engaging learning experience. This partnership equipped Phi Delta Theta with the tools and strategies needed to transform its member development initiatives, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission of fostering lifelong growth and leadership among its members.
